Who we are
Aker Floating Production (AFP) was established in 2006 and the Suezmax tanker Polar Alaska was converted into the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit Dhirubhai-1 in 2007-2008. FPSO Dhirubhai-1 is contracted to the Indian oil company Reliance Industries Ltd. through a charter contract and an operations and maintenance contract for a period of 10 years. The FPSO Dhirubhai-1 has been successfully operating since start-up on September 21st 2008. We are convinced that AFP's strong focus and dedication to proper management of HSE and Quality has been instrumental in this success.
Aker Floating Production and subsidiaries are 100% owned by Ocean Yield ASA. The current business mission is to own, operate and charter out the FPSO Dhirubhai-1.
