ABOUT AKER FLOATING PRODCUTION
Aker Floating Production is an oil service company focused on the market for leased Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units. The company is spearheading two decades of FPSO experience within Aker. Our business is to own, charter out and operate FPSOs equipped for offshore oil and gas production. In 2008 the Company completed the conversion of Dhirubhai 1 in record time. She has been operating in 1200m water depth offshore the East Coast of India for Reliance Industries Ltd. - with a market leading uptime.
FPSO Dhirubhai-1 was converted from Suezmax tanker to FPSO in 2008. The FPSO has successfully completed 10 years of operation at the east coast of India, under contract with Reliance Industries Ltd. FPSO Dhirubhai-1 is now available for re-deployment.
Aker Floating Production Group (AFP) was established in 2006. It was created in order to capitalize on the strong demand for offshore floating production and storage facilities. AFP’s original business mission was to own, operate, and charter out converted tankers equipped for oil and gas production and storage.
The Group consists of Aker Floating Production AS as the parent company, Aker Contracting FP ASA (ACFP), AFP Operations AS (AFPO) and Aker Floating Operations ltd. ACFP converted the Suezmax tanker Polar Alaska into the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit Dhirubhai-1 (DB-1) in 2007-2008.
